Which one is right for me?

Long-Range Day + Thermal adds a Caddx Farsight day camera with 8x magnification, so you can see detail from farther away without flying closer.

Thermal sees heat instead of light. If you will look for people or vehicles at night, in brush, or through light smoke, pick a configuration with thermal.

DJI O4 HD gives the sharpest picture and records 4K, but it has no thermal camera. It is best for daytime inspection and training footage.

FPV Camera is the simplest and lowest-cost setup. You can talk to us about upgrading the camera later.

What is NDAA, and do I need it?

The National Defense Authorization Act limits drone electronics from certain foreign sources. If any federal grant money is involved, or your state or agency restricts drone purchases, choose one of the NDAA configurations.

NDAA configurations use analog video and Crossfire control, because those are the parts we can source to the rule today. Everyone else can choose any configuration.

If you already own a controller, pick the link it uses. If you are starting fresh, Crossfire is the safer choice for searching wooded or built-up areas. ExpressLRS is great in open areas and pairs with most new controllers.

Plan a route on a laptop, a tablet, or right on the AX12 controller's touchscreen, and the drone flies it. Let go of the sticks and it holds its position.     Plain-English meanings for the words you'll see above.

    FPV
    First-person view. A live video feed from the drone to a screen or goggles, so you see what it sees.
    Analog vs digital
    Analog video is instant but grainy. Digital (DJI O4) is sharp HD with a very small delay.
    Control link
    The radio connection from your controller to the drone. Crossfire and ExpressLRS are two types. Your controller must match.
    Thermal
    A camera that sees heat, not light. "640" is its resolution. Also called LWIR.
    ArduPilot
    The autopilot software. It holds position, flies planned routes, and can return the drone home on its own.
    NDAA
    A federal law limiting drone electronics from certain foreign sources. Often required for grant-funded purchases.
    Remote ID
    An FAA rule. The drone broadcasts an ID while flying. Every Picket-7 has a module installed.
    6S LiPo
    The battery type. "6S" means six cells, about 22 volts. Charge and store it per the included guide.

    Before You Order

    I have never flown a drone like this. Is it right for me?

    Yes, with practice. ArduPilot can hold position and fly planned routes, which makes it easier than a racing drone. Choose the ground kit so everything arrives set up, and consider our on-site training to get your team flying safely.

    Which parts option should my agency buy?

    If any federal grant money is involved, or your state restricts drone purchases, choose NDAA-sourced. We can provide a component origin list for your file. If no sourcing rules apply, Standard gives you more video, control, and camera options.

    Do I need a license to fly it?

    The drone must be registered with the FAA. Any work or agency use generally requires a Part 107 remote pilot certificate or your agency's own FAA authorization. Every Picket-7 ships with a Remote ID broadcast module installed.

    How long until it ships?

    Each drone is built to order and ships in 3 to 4 weeks. We print, assemble, tune, and test-fly every unit before it leaves North Carolina, and you get a tracking number when it ships.

    Can my agency pay with a purchase order or grant funds?

    Yes. Use the quote button to get a formal quote with our W-9. Online checkout for card and P-card buyers is coming soon.

    Do you ship outside the US?

    No. The Picket-7 is sold and shipped to US addresses only and may not be exported.
